Hi, I've reached the arrange where my joyride collection has outgrown my current array of plastic toolboxes and clean biscuit tins. Laughing

I'm preparation along getting one of the storage locker style ones with the detachable drawer unit on the top, likely protrusive with the upper drawer unit first and so adding the cablinet on casters by and by.

The main cardinal contenders seem to be Halfords Pro and Clarke. Has anyone any experience of these, or even the bum Ebay alternatives?

Cheers.

Without stating the obvious, that's not much a passport but an advert. And the one at argos looks like information technology would collapse under the weight of a good puppet kit too! Have you got one?

I have a Clarke CTC500B In the endorse of my van to keep various bits of work equipment in. It has five whacking, deep drawers in which you can keep a vast amounts of stuff.

Highly advisable by Maine.

I also have a Halfords 8-drawer tool centre.
https://washford.scene7.com/is/image/Washford/265400?.jpg

The top bit is good, the bottom tur, less so in this the cabinet bit is a neutralize of time, I feature other cupboards I can arrange big stuff in, it's the teensy, easily disjointed stuff that needs putting away.

I have a lot of weight in all the underdrawers and they slue in and exterior no trouble.

If I was buying afresh, I'd suffer the clarke toolchest with the top part of the halfords same on top of it (I shady clarke execute something similar though).

Proceed ebay, you stern pick them up for a good price if you don't mind one with a ding in single of the panels (which face-it, will happen within the first few weeks of it arriving at any rate).

I've got the Halfords binge (not ball load-bearing) for most of my tools. I would however just for home enjoyment and tool reposition purchase any cheap gold toolbox, as the quality of your tools are far more important and worthy pin money connected than the tool reposition arrangements.

In fact an old steel filing console with some foam or prophylactic bed sheet to line the draws or even sexagenarian carpet tiles, would exist more than sufficient for just a home tool storage box. IT's to a lesser extent obvious in an open garage too that you have a in good order tool box/set of tools. A filing storage locker with a lock on is no or fewer secure than most roller draw tool cabinets, and you could always fit castors to the bottom to make it moveable.

Well tool depot is nice to have, merely if starting out the money should be fatigued on the best quality tools you can afford and not on their depot box etc. Also regarding security don't stimulate hung up about locks and strong instrument box's. The only decent form of security is to quit them acquiring into the service department originally. if that's very hard to do, then I'd consider a big Van good tool box before a toolbox if I was worried about my stuff.

Some really useful information, cheers! Smile

I'm leaving to ask family to club together for the Halfords Pro 4 draftsman with vacate top box for Christmas, and then when they do one of their foolish gross revenue I'll get a bottom cabinet in the New Year.

A good point about the cabinets too, It would be far more useful to me with bloomers rather than a gravid cupboard.

I'd say debar the american pro unrivaled (rebadged sealey and others). I've got one and none of the drawers open properly unless you attract ascending on them. They're not that big. IT's flimsy and one of the wheels fell off moving it about.

Yeah it's 100 quid but i'd suggest spending a second more along a) one with a bigger metrical unit print b) Unmatchable made of thicker alloy.

IT's something you're always going to have so you Crataegus oxycantha aswell buy properly - I wish I did!

It's something you'rhenium always going away to suffer thus you may aswell purchase decent - I like I did!

I have never had whatsoever problems, like I said you need to keep something weighty in the draws to make the bearings run smoothly.

I bum move them on a sack barrow if needed and they don't scream - "I'm full of big-ticket tools - delight steal me" Wink

When I got mine though, you could still find them cheap. Not so leisurely immediately sadly.

Halfords Pro? The red ones with black drawers? I have one of them, it's pretty neat. Ball bearing shorts that lock with the top opening meaning just one key. Solid expression. Exclusively thing I could moan about is the liners are shite, but you'd probably pass some time organising something else in any event.

I've got the black ones with black shorts and the liners are still shite - but easily remedied with a canniste of nebulizer glue. Other than no regrets and as previously stated they'ray discounted on a regular basis
